Fifth Annual Excelsior Girls' Night Out
Something New at Coldwater Knitters' Embassy on the Porch at the Birdhouse Inn You've heard of National Knit in Public Day? It's time to take our love of knitting to the streets of Excelsior! This year, every Thursday evening from 5 until 8 p.m., The Bird House Inn and Coldwater Collaborative will jointly sponsor a "Knitting on the Porch" event at the inn, located just two doors down from the shop at 371 Water Street. In addition, there will be weekly specials at the shop. There are always so many fun things to do at Girls' Night Out, why not add one more? Bring your favorite project, and join with other knitters atop the hill with a view of all the goings on. Hopefully, when the non-knitters in the crowd see firsthand how much fun we're having, they'll want to join in. Come on out and be a Knitting Ambassador! Here are the guidelines: "Admission Tickets" (free) must be picked up at the shop before heading on over to the Birdhouse. We will be limited to 25 knitters at any given time, so, depending on the number of ambassadors who show up, we may have to limit "seatings" to an hour or an hour and a half. If you are available to come earlier in the evening, that's great! It will give you a chance to take advantage of all the other specials and events down the street.
While at the shop, check out the different specials being offered only during Girls' Night Out. (See each month's specials below.)
A Coldwater employee will be available to facilitate the festivities, but this is not a class-it's even more fun than that! Take advantage of the other knitters around you in the "Embassy". There's a wealth of information sitting right next to you.
Out of courtesy to the Birdhouse, we can't bring in outside refreshments, with the exception of water. There are wonderful offerings at participating restaurants, shops and salons throughout town -- check them out at www.excelsiorgirlsnightout.com! Let us know what you think! This event is a "work in progress" (WIP) and knitters know all about those . . . . Here are the specials for June: June 3: "Princess Night" -- 30% off all "Princess Yarns" -- you'll have to come in to see which ones we mean.
June 10: 1/2 price coupon for a future knitting lesson. Regular price: $20 per hour. Limit one per customer.
June 17: "Pirate Night"-- we couldn't really think of anything relating to pirates, so we are offering a free gift with a $50 regularly priced yarn purchase.
June 24: Buy the yarn for a project at regular price and the pattern book is 50% off! (Generally applies to the books written for a specific yarn) Come on out and be a part of the summer fun in Excelsior!
