Just Get Me Started On My Sweater! To celebrate the beginning of summer we are featuring a very special yarn called Soft Linen, a magical blend of linen, alpaca and wool. This yarn makes the perfect all-season sweater especially when used to make Sally Melville's Favorite Summer Sweater (with 'built-in' air conditioning). When you purchase enough of this yarn to make a sweater we will give you a 20% discount on the yarn and also treat you to a free class with Cynthia Cushing. She will be discussing gauge, needles, sizing and construction tips. Please note, you must also own Sally Melville's book, The Knitting Experience, The Knit Stitch (it would be against the law for us to copy the pattern). If you don't own the book, let us know so we can order a copy for you.
Thursday, June 11, 7 - 8pm
Oops! Now What? $20 Do you ever get a sense of panic when you take your knitting on the road and you don't know what to do if you drop a stitch or find a mistake 10 rows down? It can ruin your whole vacation, waiting until you get back to Coldwater for help. Let Cynthia Cushing teach you how to correct those mistakes and turn you into a fearless knitter. This very special class is limited to four people at a time and you'll need to make a few small swatches before you come to class. Get registered for class early so we can send you a homework sheet.

ANYTHING GOES CLASSES
The core of our teaching curriculum is a class called ANYTHING GOES. Instead of signing up to take a class based on a particular project or technique, you sign up to take a class at a particular time. That way you can work on the project of your choice; socks, sweater, hat, whatever you want! If you're not sure what to make, just talk to any of us in the shop before your class and we'll be glad to help you choose a new project. The only Anything Goes Class that is being offered for the summer is Becky's. If her class doesn't work for you then consider getting a group of friends together to do a Design Your Own Class (see below). We will resume our expanded selection of class times in September
Skill Level: Basic Knitting to Intermediate, Age: Adult If you don’t know how to knit please join one of our Beginning Knitting Classes; after learning a few basic skills you’ll be ready to join Anything Goes in no time.
Wednesday Morning
ANYTHING GOES, $56 ANYTHING GOES DROP IN POLICY Sorry, but we are not able to allow students to make up classes or pro-rate the class fee. If space is available you can arrange to drop in on an Anything Goes class. The drop in charge is $20. Please, call the shop to make an advance reservation. We will not be able to admit you to a class unless you have a reservation.

Undivided Attention For Your Knitting Questions Private Knitting Instruction
All this year we have seen the number of private lessons we give explode. You know how it is: you need help deciphering a pattern or setting in a sleeve. Or, you need help with yarn that you bought at a shop that is no longer in business. Lots of customers use private lessons as way to periodically 'check in' on a project they are making or a technique they are learning. For instance if you want to make socks then sign up for a few 30 minute private lessons: the first one to get started on double point needles, the second one when you are ready to turn the heel, and the third one when you need to finish the toe. When you book a private lesson then you will receive our undivided attention for as long as you need. The rate is $20 per hour with a half hour minimum. You can request a certain teacher or we will set you up with someone based on the type of help you need. To schedule a lesson, please call the shop at 952-401-7501. Please note: reservations are required!
We
feel it's important to get our newest knitters off to a good start so beginning
knitting is taught as a private lesson To schedule a lesson, please call the shop at 952-401-7501. Please note: reservations are required.
TUESDAY NIGHT KNITTING, $5 Join us every Tuesday at the shop from 7 to 9pm this summer. We're going to keep the shop open and the air conditioner cranked up so we can all just hang out and knit. Staff will be available to answer simple questions but the emphasis is on relaxing and getting to know other knitters. The charge is $5 and reservations are encouraged but not required (we just need to know how many staff to have available). Please note if you don't yet know how to knit then please schedule a Beginning Knitting Class. After you learn a few basic skills then you'll be ready to join Tuesday Night Knitting. Skill level: Basic Knitting to Expert, Age: Adult Every Tuesday from June 4 to August 25 7 – 9pm Teacher: Staff The classes always fill very quickly. To ensure a spot, call us with your credit card number or better yet, come see us in the shop. The shop phone number is 952-401-7501. If you would like to register for classes by email please send the following to info@coldwateryarn.com: 1. Your name and phone number 2. class title, date, and time 3. your credit card number and expiration date. SKILL LEVEL DEFINITION Please pay careful attention to the skill level for each class. It’s frustrating for everyone if students take a class that isn’t appropriate for their knitting or crochet ability. KNITTING: Beginner: No experience. Basic Knitting Skills: You should already know how to cast-on, knit and bind-off. Advanced Beginner: You should already know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind-off. Intermediate: You’ve learned how to read most patterns and you can knit a sweater (with maybe a little bit of help). Crochet: Beginner: No experience. Basic Crochet Skills: You know how to make a chain and single crochet. Advanced Beginner: You’ve made a few projects and are comfortable with several stitches.
ADULT CLASSES: Unless otherwise stated our classes are for adults only (minimum age 14). As much as we love kids and pets they are not welcome in our adult classes. We reserve the right to ask a parent to leave if they arrive for an adult class with a child. KIDS’ AND TEENS’ CLASSES: We strive to create an environment that fosters learning and creativity. Children who are disruptive make that impossible. If necessary, we will call the parent of a child who is being disruptive and ask that the child be removed from the class.
REFUND POLICY Our classes require a minimum of four students. We will notify you by phone if there aren’t enough students. Cancellations by students must be made at least a week before the class starts in order to receive a refund. After that date fees are not refundable or transferable.
MAKE UP POLICY Sorry, but we do not allow students to make up classes. If you are unable to come to all the classes then please consider scheduling a private lesson.
